EMSA and EMSA North

Who is EMSA?

The Edmonton Minor Soccer Association (EMSA) is the governing body for soccer in Edmonton. It oversees community and club teams across the city and ensures the proper conduct of players and teams, including adherence to game rules. EMSA reports directly to the Alberta Soccer Association (ASA), which helps organize game schedules and manages field availability in Edmonton and the surrounding areas, including indoor facilities. EMSA is divided into three regions: EMSA South, EMSA West, and EMSA North.

Which Zone does Fort Saskatchewan play under?

Fort Saskatchewan falls under EMSA North. While we are part of EMSA North, we maintain a separate identity. We manage our own registration platform, set our own fees, organize field time, schedule practices, and run our own U5-U7 programs. EMSA North assists with declaring community and club teams to EMSA, but we operate independently in several key areas.

How long has Fort Saskatchewan been part of EMSA North?

Fort Saskatchewan officially joined EMSA North in the fall of 2021. Prior to that, we were part of the Tri County Soccer division. For the benefit of our program and players, we decided to withdraw from Tri County Soccer and apply to join EMSA. After being accepted by both EMSA and ASA, we became part of EMSA North.
