About Fort Saskatchewan Minor Sports Association
The Fort Saskatchewan Minor Sports Association (FSMSA) provides its members with centralized governance, advocacy, administrative and financial support, along with many other valuable resources. These resources enable the member sports groups to continue delivering top-quality sports experiences to the children of Fort Saskatchewan.
FSMSA ensures financial integrity by having its financial records audited annually by a public accounting firm registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta. The association also safeguards the financial and equipment assets of its member groups, providing protection should any sport be unable to operate for any reason.
The City of Fort Saskatchewan and community representatives regularly meet with member sports organizations to consult on matters related to sports and recreation.
Currently, soccer and eight other minor sports programs operate under the umbrella of the FSMSA. These sports include baseball, gymnastics, hockey, judo, lacrosse, fastball, basketball, and ringette.
Incorporated as a society in 1974, the FSMSA originally included soccer and hockey as its founding sports.
