2024 Fort Saskatchewan Minor Sports STRIKE Scholarship
In partnership with STRIKE Energy and their generous annual donation toward our operations, FSMSA is proud to offer the 2024 STRIKE Scholarship to its members.
Purpose
The STRIKE Scholarship aims to recognize and reward senior high school students who participate in FSMSA sports, while encouraging them to pursue post-secondary studies.
Scholarship Awards
- STRIKE Gold Scholarship: $1,000
- STRIKE Silver Scholarship: $500
- STRIKE Bronze Scholarship: $250
Eligibility
- Applicants must be enrolled, either full-time or part-time, in a post-secondary institution in Fall 2024 or Winter 2025.
- Scholarships will prioritize current high school students graduating in June 2024, but any FSMSA participant who is attending post-secondary education in 2024 is eligible.
- Proof of post-secondary enrollment will be required before the scholarship is awarded.
Applicants must have participated in at least one season of FSMSA sports. Those with more involvement in FSMSA activities will be given higher consideration.
FSMSA sports include baseball, fastball, gymnastics, hockey, judo, lacrosse, ringette, and soccer within Fort Saskatchewan. Involvement includes being a registered player, coach, game official, or volunteer.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be selected based on a combination of:
- Academic success
- Athletic accomplishments
- Volunteerism/community involvement
Priority will be given to graduating high school students.
Requirements
- Your most recent high school or post-secondary transcript. (Final 2024 school year report cards or proof of high school graduation are not required.)
- A letter of recommendation/reference from a volunteer coordinator, teacher, principal, coach, etc.
- Short responses to a number of eligibility questions.
- A long-form response (500 words or less) to the following question:
How has the leadership, growth, perseverance, and dedication you experienced within sport prepared you for post-secondary education?

Award Presentation
Award winners will be recognized in person at the annual STRIKE Golf Tournament on July 25, 2024.
